“I’m going to leave that to others to conclude.” Uhm, excuse me. What was that?

I’m sure by now everybody has heard about Clintons inability to give a straight answer. For those who haven’t: In an ABC Interview she was asked if she agreed that homosexuality is immoral. Her answer:

“Well I’m going to leave that to others to conclude. I’m very proud of the gays and lesbians I know who perform work that is essential to our country, who want to serve their country and I want make sure they can.”

Why the hell couldn’t she just say: “No, I don’t think so.”? See? It’s really easy. I’ve got to admit that I don’t really understand the American obsession with this topic. Most Germans don’t give a crap about other peoples sexuality (unless, of course, they want to be involved in it). But back to the point: Why do I get the impression that Senator Clinton is a PollBot - always cagey and evasive when it comes to controversial issues, but seemingly straightforward when it’s clear that it won’t effect the polls.

The more often I hear and see her, the more artificial she seems to be. But maybe that’s just my impression, and in the end she proves me wrong. I’d be glad.
